After many years of planning and several grant applications, the ILRMS succeeded in obtaining a grant of $15,000 for the construction of our museum building. Track has been laid inside the building, with rollingstock now on display there. In the future, track will be laid outside and leading into the building for the purpose of periodic rotation of the items on display. The building will house many artefacts which the museum owns, although are not easily accessable to the public.

Our new museum building opened to visitors on Sunday 9th December 2007, after an official ceremony. Our latest attraction is a stand alone museum building where visitors to the our museum site can see and enjoy photographs and other historical items on display in a new clean building.
